Flying???

I was wondering if anyone knows how well Ameraucana chickens can fly? I have a very large run for them however it doesn't have a top. Its about 15ft. High can they fly over that?

Hello and Welcome To BYC! You might like to post on some of the Ameraucana threads https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...for-posting-pictures-and-discussing-our-birds it might be easier if you posted a picture or explained the setup a little better, if they will be able to get over it depends on a couple of things, what do they have to get up on to use as a step towards the top, how much runway room do they have etc.

Welcome to BYC - 15' is relatively, but if there are any trees/branches etc that they can roost on, they may eventually figure their way out of the pen. Possible but not likely.

You might want to put some top on the run to keep hawks out. It would also serve to keep your birds inside.
