I got great news from the city! I begin construction on the coop asap! Once the coop is finished I get an inspection and a 10 dollar fee and that's it! Yay me! So excited to build a nice coop and get some girls!

We are sooo happy! I'm going to build a 5'x5' elevated tractor. I looked at all the designs and pulled good cues that I liked from all. My major concerns are going to be shelter as it gets to be well over 100 here all summer. And protection from coon's foxes and the like.

Hi BrOncOxraptOr, it's nice to have someone from Lawton to talk to. We are south west of Lawton by a few miles, but have a Lawton address. I just posted to you on the Okie thread, then saw this one. FYI: if you are going to use 48in 1/2 hardware cloth for your tractor, there is none in town as of yesterday. I looked EVERYWHERE. We ended up going down to WF last night so we could finish our new run. There is lots of 36in. Have fun. And post pictures.

Ok thanks fellow Okies, Coop is almost done. Just need to add some roost poles, a pop door, and paint. After that toss on some wire and it's done! The weather is not really cooperating today, oh well. Chicks are doing really well, we have 6 so far. I think I have 2 americana 1 leg horn and 3 rode island reds.

My husband and I are planning to move into lawton city limits soon. Could you give me any information on requirements before we move. We have 10 Rhode Island reds.
