Uh, it sounds like ILT or CRD. And yes, it's serious and highly contagious. Possible to cure though. Contact the chicken doctor www.firststatevetsupply.com. He is an expert and can tell you what antibiotic to use and what else tio do. He is not a vet but is a poultry expert. Start them on anibiotics in their water, now. The whole flock if you have other chickens. If nothing else, use 4 tsp per gallon of Duramycin in the drinking water. Isolate your Silkie hen and make sure she has the antibiotic too. Don't put the Tylan in her eye, you can use Terramycin eye gel though that you get at the feed store. Wash her eye out with saline solution; human eye wash; first.then apply the gel around the eye or over the lid if it is closed. Do this twice a day. Please don't waste any time; it probably is not just a cold. Chickens don't get colds tbut they sometimes do get respiratory infections that are not too serious. You have to treat it as if it is very serious, though, and don't let any vet tell you otherwise. Disinfect everything, preferably with oxine, or at least bleach. I have rirst hand experience with ILT and that sounds like the beginning of it. Our flock did recover and are not carriers. I'm just saying that, unless you don't mind culling, you have to treat anything like that quickly and aggressively. Good luck, we'll keep our fingers crossed.
