FOGHORN LEGHORN~ "Lookit here son, I say, I say son, did ya see that hawk after those hens? ....

oh my goodness you have done your research good for you, it sounds like you do know the best choice is to make covered runs

i wanted to say two things
1 my next roo will be named foghorn because of you
2 the reason for bans like this is that historically humans will hunt to extinction or endangerment and it is easier to do than you might think

I love the foghorn name!

We actually just got some of those kids twirly things and put them around the run, they spin with just a easy breeze too! I asked my son for extra old CD's but no one has any junk ones, wish I could use cassettes! LOL

Ooo, a Halloween cassett! With cats screeching, and dogs/wolves howling. Wait, that just may attract them!! Ok, with some squeaky doors, some organ music, a witch laughing............

I have crows for a week now!! YAY!!! just hope they don't get my chickens sick

Really? They can make the chickens sick? I saw one fly over a couple of weeks ago. We don't have too many of those in Central Utah, but a lot in the South. We struggle with sparrows..a lot of sparrows! They get right into the food bowls, they take baths in the water. I can't stand them here. Good luck with your crows..didn't you say you got some of those wind mill toys? I did. I am going to put them out because I'm afraid that Coopers Hawk will come back. Simple thing, but you never know what will work. Worth a try anyway.

Years ago I had a banty rooster I call "Rooster Cogburn" because he lost an eye battling a hawk to protect his girls!!!!!! Now I have a pit bull and a golden retreiver that look up all the time and chase any large bird that flies over their yard!!!!!!!!!!
