Follow me to a trip to China

Pics
From what it sounds like, lightm grew up in China and is now a US citizen. So maybe that is why lightm has the citizen card then.
Mmm, drumsticks! Josey is asleep in the coop. She will not notice that I am typing this.
Here in Canada we have Swiss Chalet Chicken and Ribs (yummy!), and Mary Brown’s Chicken (a Newfoundlander company similar to KFC) which I prefer to KFC.

Lightm likely carrys a dual citizenship - same as many people in the world. Makes it easy to travel to see one’s family no visa required.

Tell Josey she’s safe, she has no meat on her bones 😊

yes I am a Chinese citizen. China does not do dual citizenship. I am a permanent US resident.
I stand corrected to my statement I just made!

I have to say I thought our transit system was very clean and modern here in Canada, but the ones you are showing us are sparkling!

Is everyone so disciplined and orderly there? I mean here people are very polite and cordial, but I don’t see the orderliness you are presenting. I imagine the threat of authorities, knowing who and where you are keeps everyone in line…?

June 16th, I took pictures of Shaoxing while I visited my cousin.

When I talked to other Chinese of my age, who are from other parts of China, I realized that I am from a privileged region. My town is relatively rich and I never had to worry about being hungry.

Shaoxing itself is a lovely touristy ish town. It likes to call itself "the Venice of the East". It doesn't sound too appropriate to me. 😂

There are many canals through the city. There used to be much more but got filled up for building. Boat used to be the main mean of transportation.

Very lovely, it’s too bad they filled the canals.

I don't feel it's particularly disciplined or orderly. In fact, on my flight from Doha to Hangzhou, everyone unbuckled and started to get their luggage during plane taxing!! It really annoyed me.

Taking busses and trains has been pleasant, but nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe my pictures are biased 🤭

Yesterday I went to my grandparents place. My dad's parents. They both passed away relatively recently. My dad's little sister inherited the place.

It is in the old part of town, where the local government decided to preserve. I should have taken more pictures.

So, your grandparents place...is that a common area for lots of people living in apartments or is that all theirs?
