Agreed for the first part (everyone cookin to their own taste), but any amount of garlic is WAY TOO MUCH. I cannot stand the stuff.

Ha, don't give me a few glasses of wine then leave the kitchen

Yummy Garlic, is this why DH and I don't french kiss anymore

There are some free online coupon sites; you just need a printer. And if you shop at a store with a loyalty card then you can frequently load coupons straight to your card from their online site. I will note though, some places will double paper coupons when they won't double the ones they load to the card. I also just subscribed to the Sunday and Wednesday papers; they both have coupons. With the right subscription it's about a dollar a week with about $10 in coupons. I've been couponing lately and I save anywhere from 15-25% when I shop.

Ok, Wow, That sounds so nice of you to do.. I think this is where you need to say to her, if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all, and BTW, tomorow is your turn to cook....

with that being said, she really criticizes your eggs? DH have been together 10 years, I have never told him, honey the eggs you made are aweful.. I will simply not eat them(I do the chop things up, hide them thingy) , or in case of the stir fry.. (After 10 years together, we critize each others taste in food, cause we truely are different people)

DH watches to see how much I eat then is like what, you didn't like this, or that.. I say no honey was great, Thank-you so much for cooking supper. And note to myself, next time we are having that for supper, I better go "ADD GARLIC" ok just kidding but you know, get my butt to the kitchen and start to alter that recipe..

Yup, time to let her cook.. I'm sorry, I forget, what's her reason for not cooking?

My husband criticized me for well it would have been 30 years on Oct 8th, never happy I couldn't do anything right! Now I am on my own and guess what my cooking is wonderful!!! I have never been happier and neither have my critters. Tell her to cook or keep quiet and the alligator tears won't work any more! Some people you will never be able to please, if you cooked me a nice breakfast I would be a lot more thankful and grateful. Time to cut the apron strings and make her cook for a while.

Also, but boneless meats when you can. Buy a pork loin in a chunk and butterfly it yourself. . .I cook a roast and use the leftovers for hash

or bbq later in the week. I cook boneless chicken breasts and throw in some legs and thighs and debone what needs to be, (crockpot) and then grind it up for chicken salad. . .if I don't think we will eat it all, I freeze it after its ground, and save it for later.

When I make tacos, I use 1# of ground beef (better grade gives you more meat, the cheaper brands are watery and full of fat and not very tasty to be honest), add 1 cup minute rice just before its done cooking, add the seasonings and water then put in a can of refried beans. Most people use them as a side, but you will be amazed how many people you can feed from that one pound of hamburger doing this. It freezes well too.

Check the dollar stores for food bargains too. I have found hashbrowns there for 1/3 of what they are at the store, and cannot tell the difference. . .can even find chicken strips and stuff, but they are really finely cut for strips so decided not to deal with them, as I felt like I wasn't getting agood deal for $5.

Coupon, coupon, coupon. Watch the store specials and go from there. Watch CVS pharmacy is you have one in the area, because you get money back from them for all your shopping and prescriptions, plus they have coupon specials, and your tag they scan gives you even more savings. I have $6.50 to spend on anything in the store because of my shopping there and DH's meds.

Little things, but it all helps.

Try making your own laundry detergent too; I use the dry recipe, because just don't have room for the big 5 gallon bucket, and LOVE it. Costs about $12 to get started, but that is 3 batches for me, and doing laundry at least 4 times a week, it still lasts me over a month. (per batch). I made 3 batches at a time, just to save time.

Good luck!!!

This is the original post, nothing to do with the picky wife post. Which should be its own thread.

To the OP, I don't waste time with couponing any more. Time, paper and printer ink are expensive.

I do shop the weekly specials and stock the freezer when I can, mostly meats.

That was really nice that you fixed her breakfast.

She liked your momma's biscuits...does she like any other things your mom makes?

I'm curious about what she didn't like about the eggs.
