Food Quirks

Aww, c'mon now. I'll bet there's something you like that's not necessarily in any chef's recipe repertoire.

I like corn tortilla with re fried beans in the middle and cheese and then potato chips in it for some crunch!🤩

Taste is as individual as anything else about a person and everyone has *at least* one quirky combination or weird way of enjoying their food. Please share yours and maybe find something someone else posted that looks interesting enough to try.

To get us started, here's one of my favorite ways to enjoy mashed taters every now-and-again. I like to mix them with an equal portion of cottage cheese and then mix in some ketchup and a little bit of black pepper. 🤤 So good - to me.
My next door neighbor as a child put maple syrup on cottage cheese and it wasn't half bad.

That's not far off of what we did/ still do. We add maple syrup to milk like you would nesquik. When you have family that makes maple syrup your only expense is the milk and when you're lucky enough to live by a farmer who milks her own cows, that's even inexpensive. Together, the combination is just heaven in a glass. 🥰

The greens are also very good sauteed...
Mmmm. You've put me to mind of sauteed cabbage and now I'm craving colcannon but I have day-old chili (the perfect age), some tamales, and bison stew leftovers to get through before I even *think* about making anything else.

A quirky bit of Irish deliciousness! 💚

Here's a video from one of my favorite quirky vloggers. Be sure and read the comments for some great suggestions such as sauteing your cabbage or kale in the butter with onion before incorporating.
