Can you maybe find another job..any job at all? Even if its not in the field you went to school for? Just until a job in your field opens up. I know, it sucks, but if it will feed you..you gotta do what ya gotta do. I dont know how many hours you are getting a week at your job now..but sometimes you even need to work 2 jobs to make ends meet. My mother worked 3 jobs to raise my brother and i .. A 40 hours a week day job... a night waitress job AND selling Mary Kay and Home Interior things on the weekends. Good luck! I know how hard it is to struggle..i've been there also..

What businesses look for a degree in Poultry Science?

Maybe you should go back to school for a masters in education, and become a science teacher?

Thats a good idea! Can you get assistance if you are back in school? That may help you out..

My dear you are one of the ones that NEEDS them, it is not defeat, it is helping you sustain yourself while you seek employment in your chosen field. You JUST graduated. You need help and time. That is what it is there for.

Get them, when we ran a daycare we would get a similar program to feed the kids (we dealt with very poor kids, and focused on preschool skills early).

Check out Angelfood, you can buy boxes with your stamps, we would take orders at the daycare and use the bus to pick up the cases of food, good insurance that the end of the month there's food comming before you run out.

Also see if there's a Gleaners group in your area. They basically collect and redistribute surplus food.

Don't beat yourself up. Use this opportunity to make a workable plan and for right now it might be some outside help. Just take one day at a time and ask Gods help and you will see the light at the end. Be good to yourself because you have the power to make things happen. All the best!!

I'm already working two jobs. One at Wal-Mart and one in the Animal Science department taking care of mice and rats.

The place didn't deny me completely...but for this month I'm going to have to cut down portions and see what else I can do. May just be a constant source of eggs for awhile (going back home does have it's advantages). I have an appointment for Aug. 6 (payday of course...LOL) to see if I qualify.

Tyson, vaccination companies, Cargill, Pilgrim's Pride, etc. you'd think would be interested in the Poultry Science degree. THAT'S where the issue is. They want you to have experience in the industry or that area before you begin working.

As of right now...I'm just having to sit and wait. Since so many "upper level" people have lost their jobs I have little to no chance to compete with the unemployed upper management person who is applying for the same position I am.

I'm supposed to go back to school next May. I will be getting my own assistanceship with another professor. It was the first one he could get me and I really wanted to work under him.

Your app't is 2 weeks away. Is it possible to go to your dads for dinner one or two nights a week? Could you trade eggs for vegis with anyone? Also are there soup kitchens near you. I realize you may not want to go to one but it doesn't hurt to know what is available
