In the Brooder
I have two Ayem Ketawa hens. They are about 4 1/2 months old. A few days ago, within a day of each other, both hens had one of their feet fold under so that they were walking on one good foot and an ankle. They get 20% protein chick crumble, they've been wormed and treated for lice and mites, and I put Rooster Booster in their water. They free range all day and are in an enclosed run and coops at night. I just had to put one down because she could barely stand and wasn't eating. The other seems fine and is running around on one good foot and one ankle. I don't know what else to do for her! All of my other hens and roosters are fine. I purchased the Ayem Ketawa as day olds from a reputable breeder. Could it be the breed? Any suggestions?
