Noticed a week or so back my buff was limping. Could for the life of me find anything wrong with her and she seemed fine after a bath and the next day. Noticed last night she was limping again and holding the same leg up like it hurt to stand on it. Noticed this little hole/wound on the side of her "palm pad" it's not where pressure is put so I don't think it's bumble foot.
Gave her another bath today. Used a toothbrush to sort of gently clean the area put some silver sulfadozine I had from a bumblefoot case a while back and put a bootie on her foot.

Her pad is a bit swollen compared to her other foot which makes me think it is a bit infected.

Any suggested treatment options? Epson salt? I could make a vet apt but not sure how quick I could get in.

Thanks.

Aww, poor baby, that looks painful. I think you're doing all the right things! If you're going to soak her foot, I'd use sea salt instead of Epsom salts. You could try making a poultice (wet, herby goop) and putting it inside her booty. Some good options for poultice material would be diced/pressed garlic, calendula flowers simmered in water for about 15 minutes then most of the water strained out (save the water in the fridge for herbal washes later), even bentonite clay and/or activated charcoal made into a thick paste. You could also pack it with goldenseal powder, if you have any. All these things would probably help for bumblefoot, too, if that's what's going on. Good luck, I hope she feels better soon! I have a Buff Orpington, too, named Fern. She's almost 2 years old and my friendliest duck by far. :)
