Hey everyone. I am using the same one that Aran has, got mine out of a junked water heater. My temp is holding right at 98-99 deg. Hard to tell with the cheap thermometer that I have. It came out of my brooder. Here is a pic...

I got the whole fan thing and dimmer switch going but I wanted better. I'll keep working on it. As for getting humidity up, some sponges, a fan, and hanging damp towels will bring it right up.

silkiechicken...took literally about 5mins to instal the thermostat...redneck kindly sent me a wiring diagram and posted pics of his own work on BYC...is working a treat...very easy!

Redneck--> I have a small dish of water in the bottom of mine and the huditiy is 65-80%!!!!!!!

You just need to increase the surface area of water in the base and make sure not too many ventilation holes are open at the top to let all the moisture out.

I am using a container that cake frosting comes in. It will hold about 2 cups of water. I will get something that is a rectangle for more surface area.

redneck...since this is an evaporation dish the depth matters not. The only thing that will increase the evaporation is increasing the surface area of the body of water. Put a dinner plate with 1/4 inch of water in your bater and the humidity will go WAY up!
