for newbie duck owners like me (care sheet for ducks)

anytime you like. Have you ever hatched ducks and chickens in the same bator or is that bad? if you have and had a good hatch rate I can do pay for them in april when I get silkieluvrs eggs

You can either put the eggs in at the same time, or put the duck eggs in a week earlier so they hatch out at the same time and you can stop turn, add humidity, ect at the same time. But I have put them in at the same time and just had to keep turning the duck eggs for a week and they don't mind the extra humidity since it's suppose to be humid for them anyway.

haha good luck! I just got a whole load of books from murray mcmurray, I even got the standard of perfection one, and the extra-extraordinary chickens. Have you considered muscovies, they are kinda ugly looking but come in alot of colors, are very quiet, don't really like the water(because they don't have the same amount of oils on their feathers like normal ducks), and they fly around, even the big 12 pound males somehow lift themselves off the ground

I thought about them very briefly. I really don't care for their looks and the flying would be a problem here if they went over the fence into the neighbors' yard.
