I have a live-and-let-live attitude toward wildlife, but I can't really say that foxes are high on my list of favorite local animals. We have rats, mice, and rabbits galore around here, but the foxes seem to prefer to massacre my chickens. As long as the hotwire around my pasture fence is working, they stay out, but if the wire shorts out on something, a fox seems to find out before I do. The last time it happened, the fox(es?) dug under the fence and killed 18 chickens and 5 ducks. This was around 9-10 o'clock in the morning, after the chickens were up and stirring. Our livestock make such easy meals, once discovered, there are some predators that will put a great deal of effort into coming back after them.
(BTW, I think Kurt's comment was addressed to The Big Dog, who lives in Australia)
(oh, okay, i feel dumb xD)
Ya, I like foxes, but of they kill MY pets, I see them as rats. Okay take that back, i love rats. I see them as pests (like ants) that need to be taken care of. We tried keeping him out, hasnt worked. Now, I'm worth killing the fox, as Chickened said ~ There isn't a shortage of foxes in AK
