Nope no days off here. They usually hold election day on a weekend tho that Doesnt help those that work on weekends.
You get a fine if you dont vote. And it increases each time you dont. Then it can actually turn into jail time if you repeatedly fail to vote (and dont pay the fines lol )

All politicians, by definition, are corrupt. Anybody who would want to be a high level politician probably shouldn't be.

Hmmmmm....I didn't know that voting was an issue in WWII....I'll have to brush up on my history. We were fighting "over there" for our voting rights here. Who knew?

For some elections, i don't take the time to educate myself on the issues, but the deeper seated reason is that I believe most politicians tell you what they think you want to hear to get your vote then do what they want while in office.
