For those of you who have used DE for mites.....

How effective do you think dusting the coop and the hens with DE is for mites?? Did it work for you or did you take further measures??

I found it not to be all it is "advertised to be", and I have had to take futher measures.
Sevin Dust on the chickens and in the coop.. a "sandbox" with DE and a little Sevin Dust in it is nice for them to "dust bath" in.

Cleanliness and DE are "nice" but DE will not prevent or treat worms or mites.. it might help a little to prevent (mites) a bit (?)... but, mine got both while I was using DE... so... I like DE.. but, I use Sevin Dust for treating and preventing.

Sevin Dust, repeat in ten days... use once a month or so for prevention.

just my opinion.... others have other ideas.
