For those of you who dream of owning a horse..... Just remeber that the initial cost of purchasing one is just the beginning of owning one. They cost you money EVERY SINGLE day of the rest of their lives. Hoof and tooth care, feeding expenses, vaccines, tack, fencing, housing, it all adds up quickly. If you have to board your horse, that can be VERY expensive. I know..... I own two of them

I love paints and I love drafts, so GVs are basically the perfect horse! Plus they have wonderful personalities...even the stallions!

Personally I dont go for breed I go for a horse that I am comfortable around and that matches my personality. I would pick a TB or a mustang any day but if a horse picks me and isnt one of those breeds I would take it. I train horses so I would naturally pick a young horse but if a horse catches my eye I would take it! I love a challenge in anything!

Ah yes, my Percherons are the best horses ever but they do have some limitations. LOL!
