For those who have winter.. on the real brutal cold days, what do you offer them for food?

Cooked oatmeal? I have some quick oats, can I make that and give it to them?

Heck yeah ! they will love them .

I give them their normal food but then to encourage everyone to keep moving I give them scratch. The thing I do differently is going out for extra water since it freezes so quickly.

I've tried oatmeal several times and my ducks don't seem interested and I've tried adding stuff to it to encourage them to eat it...no luck. Wondering what everyone else adds to theirs....

I've been feeding them smaller portions more often, like 4 or 5 times a day. (They actually quack at the kitchen door when they're ready to eat.) I've also been giving them water in a bowl. I got tired of dealing with the frozen waterer, so I have a bowl now that I fill with warm water to warm their insides.

The oatmeal is a great idea. I didn't think of that.
