Had to tell hubby I bought eggs yesterday. He would have noticed the $ missing in the checking acct. I didn't realize I had spent so much... $10 here, $25 there.... before I know it I've spent almost $150 on EGGS!!!! And I already have 21 eggs in the bator now. He said how many did you order? I'm like I dunno... a few from a couple different places. I think I'm going to have to buy an extra 'bator to keep at work so he won't notice.
Ha! I did the same thing. I went to the feed store to pick up some feed and ended up with six more babies. Then, my broody's didn't hatch, so I had to go get her a few little girls too! It's so hard to pass the babies by! I say "take ten, they're small"!!
Now my sweet husband is so tired of hearing about chickens, he says he just doesn't care anymore. I take that as the go ahead to do whatever I want!! Poor guy.
Sometimes I really like working night shift. He never knows what I carry in. He usually stays out of my barn but happened in the other day when the neighbors came by to see all of my chicks. Then he noticed the cage with the baby ducks.

When you are ready to get your goaties give me a heads up! I started with one last winter and am now waiting on one to kid.....that should bring me to over thirty. And I'm waiting on my third brood of chicks this spring to bring my total to somewhere in the neighborhood of 60. Don't even get me started on how many horses I ended up with. Yep, hubby is very tolerant of my OCD needs.
The other night my hubby was going to sleep on the couch in the living room cause he was going to stay up late watching tv. (plus I sleep better without him snoring
) I heard him shut off tv and since he shut off tv the chicks had to get up and eat one last meal and peep for a while before they went to bed. He comes in not even 5 minutes later saying they were too loud and the red light was too bright.
He was in bed probably 5 minutes and all was quiet again. He's such a baby. I think its actually soothing to hear them peeping. Its not like they were playing king of the food jar or anything and practicing flying.. just peeping quietly to themselves.
I have yet to catch him playing with him which is usually a sign of acceptance..but we will see..they are only 3 weeks old. He said yesterday, "you know you act like these are pets!" Duh! lol he doesnt get it.
Guess What????!!!! Last night he played with the chicks!!
I couldnt believe it. I came home from a meeting and he said I got in with the chicks. I was like no you didnt cause its nasty in there. He insisted and then went over took the lid off and was petting some. So of course I told him some of the names and Baby hopped on the food jar. I told him to open his palm and she will climb up and she did!! I think he is secretly hooked
