Foraging - The Human Version

I live in Northern Europe. I have a nice spot of chanterelles on my property. They're the only mushroom I dare to pick.

I also have cloudberries nearby. My favorite berry, but the last years we've had drought in the summer so I've only found a handful. There's tons of blueberries though!

We fish and even though the fish is small, you can't beat freshly caught mountain trout. Yum!
I was reading about cloudberries. Unfortunately I think it's too warm in Virginia to ever have the chance. I was going to try to see if I could find some when I took my trip to Canada this summer but of course you know with everything that was canceled. But they look so delicious and from what I'm reading they really are

They are very delicious and sweet! But also scarce most places. Some people in my country are nuts about them, they have their own special spots and will take others who pick in the same spot as a declaration of war. Greedy people...
Hope you get the chance to taste some when and if traveling is safe again!

may i ask what a cloudberry is?

berries are just starting where i pick, lots of blueberries and raspberries hoping for a good season.

got some hazelnuts am keeping my eye on, as well.

not sure if hunting counts as foraging but it is gathering food from the wild.

this spring my dad got a nice black bear for the freezer.
might sound weird but bear is really good. (only if you get one not eating trash or fish)
