A few months ago I told my husband that I was ready to start a farm, so a friend gave me 2 trios of beautiful full grown silkies (this is all I needed for fresh eggs for my baking). Before I picked them up I decided I wanted some babies too soooo I bought 6 red pullets and ummmm 3 rabbits (one managed to escape and I think get eaten) and 2 baby mallards too (because he never tells me no). After a couple of days of tweaking this and that in the coop, I came home to a very nice coop AND he had bought me a dozen more red pullets. I was very happy, APPARENTLY, I would rather have a dozen pullets than a dozen roses lol. So that makes 24 total chickens. Then, I decided I wanted to know what goat milk tasted like so off to a goat farm I went. Well, do you know that goat farms have babies?! I came home with a gallon of milk and 2 Nigerian Dwarf does. Well if you are going to have does you might as well have bucks too right?! And of course you can't have just one so this past Monday, I picked up 2 bucks. So lets see.... 24 chickens, 2 rabbits (I think they are both does), 2 mallard ducks (a drake and a hen that are inseparable), 4 Nigerian Dwarf Goats, 9 silkie eggs and oh yeah, my husband decided some guineas would be great for the ticks sooo 10 guinea eggs in the bator (all are showing veins). So there you have it FARM MATH at work on a city girl! Oh.... did I forget to mention the Great Pyrenees to protect the baby goats!?
Had to edit that to 24 chickens because my real math wasn't adding up lol
