Hi and welcome to BYC Glad you joined us... I fear one of my "hens" is starting to grow a collar and the same kind of tail feathers as yours... It's about 10 weeks or so.

Wow! My drake is an Appleyard.

Yea, the Pekin sprouted a curled tail feather once, and as soon as it fluffed itself up a bit, it came out, so I'd just put it off as a loose feather that ended up looking curled. It's been quite loud for 26 weeks, and even had shouting matches with the three girls when I added them to the flock. Seemed to act like a female to me, but who knows. It does get very protective of the girls outside, always watching the skies. It's imprinted on me, though, so I've never seen any aggression at all..

I wish mine had come out as a male much earlier.. Everytime I come out to the coop.. "Aflac! Where my damn eggs at?!" lol..
