we all know that this is not the first conversation about a neglected dog or a dumped dog...but what kills me is the humane society and SPCA's all preach spay and neuter...even Bob Barker did in his famous closing line on the price is right...

But it still makes me shake my head when you call a typical vet to inquire about spay/neuter pricing, or call the SPCA. Everyone wants a FORTUNE for it...

I know I know...if you cant afford the vet you cant afford the pet right?...BUT when they got their pet they were employed and working great then the Auto ind happened...

In Toronto there was (i dont know if its still there) a vet clinic that does nothing more then spay/neuter and vaccines. thats it... the Vets and the techs have donated their time, all they charge is for the actual cost of supplies. they even have an assistance program where they can reduce the bill if you cant afford it. They expect you to volunteer to work off the bill, you may be moping floors, or cleaning runs, or kennels, helping with a fundraiser...

we need more of these places!

That is a seriously beautiful dog! What eyes! I am so glad you saved her... I would sure pray about keeping her... get a nice big kennel, she will be fine, lol.

That would have been a real shame for her to get smashed on the road. I wish you could keep her! How easy is it to talk your DH into things?? You've already got her a dogloo...she's practically permanently living there, anyway!

When you described the mix Dane/Boxer, I thought, yeah right! But, I think you are right on with the guess. How is she with the chickens and other animals? If she was closer, I'd love her!

Robin,

Give me call and let's see what we can do. I'm full right now with it being Memorial day weekend. After Monday, I may have room.

I ADORE this group! They are the most down to earth group of rescuers I've ever come across. I see them adopting out to families with young children all the time, which is wonderful. I hope a family with kids will adopt this little girl, she is seriously one of the best puppies I've ever had possession of and will make a wonderful addition to someone's home.

oops! i also meant to say that i think it is wonderful that you are caring for her until she can get a good home! a lot of people dont even care these days unless they can get something out of it!!!
