Found 5 kittens.....mommy got hit by a car

Oh I'm so jealous! Just keep them dry and warm and keep feeding them kitten food.

I would try to tame them... they will be the best cats since you rescued them! Sit next to them for a couple days and work your way closer and closer. Within a week you will be holding them. Quiet and calm is the trick.

They are adorable. I would take all of them if you were closer! Ok. maybe I shouldn't have all of them... but I would have a hard time picking just one for sure!!

I didnt use any soap on their faces just a nice warm wash cloth to get the gunk off.

The kittens are doing great! I let them explore the house last night a little bit they all ended up on the couch with me!!! They’re SO cute and becoming super friendly! I still haven’t introduced them officially to my boxer and they don’t like him when he walks by their cage they all hiss and go crazy! It’s really quite funny. Maybe in about a week I will work on formally introducing them! But they’re doing very well!!!!!!!!!!!! If I get a chance tonight I will take more pictures and post them tomorrow!

Oh and as far as we can tell they are all flea free fortunately!!!

the worst thing you could do is take them to the pound or a rescue even "no kills" kill.

But if you take them to the shelter you pretty much guarantee that they will be FIXED before they are adopted out. If you adopt them out yourself, next thing ya know there'll be a hundred more feral cats running around. Just my .02

Also for the OP, if you plan to keep one I'd seriously consider keeping 2. They will play with each other and teach each other to not to bite/scratch hard in play. It's so much harder to train a single kitten to be gentle, because we dont' speak the language. Plus, they are less lonely if they have a feline companion. I'd NEVER keep one kitten (just the way I am, some people do it just fine) simply because I don't have the time to put into playing with it, but getting two they will play with themselves if you aren't avaliable.

Don't forget to mention two are thrice the trouble

And three times the entertainment. After having singleton cats and then littermates, I would always adopt two rather than one.

at this age, 4 wks mommy would have started weanign them but they are still dependant on a little milk till about 6 weeks, I have rescued a lot of kittens and fostered many many kittens for the rescue centre in my community, the best thing to give them maybe once a day to be sure they are getting their nutrients is Whiskas kitten milk from walmart a litte plate on the ground. they will love it. or you can give it to them mixed with their dry kitten food.

In the litters I have fostered almost all of them used to hiss at us, they are just scared little fur balls, but within a few days they got playful and accepted everyone and even tried playing with my german sheppard whow ould knock them sideways with his tongue...lol...good for you for stopping to help out :-)

How are the babies doing? You've got to keep the pretty little calico in the middle of the litterbox!!

If you have a petsmart around check with the folks who do their pet adoptions. Maybe they can take them for you. The night I picked up my last 2, a lady gave them a whole box full. She had the mother too and was going to give her to them too after she had her fixed.

We do adoptathons at Petsmart for our rescue group. Check to see what they can do for you.
you're great for taking them in

I just took one in and I can't imaging if it were 5! I'm trying to deal with a bunch of 28 elderly unplaceables that are at one of our volunteer's home at the moment. All over 12yo and all on medications for various chronic diseases. Having a kitten around is a nice change but she needs a home! Enjoy the babies. That calico is a keeper.
I love calicos (she's actually a tortie with white?).
