found a rooster in the park with pics

Thank you everyone all for the kind words!!

I only found 1 rooster at the park and Lucas found the baby chicks in the bushes in front of the house last year...But,I did find a few chickens dead at the park last year, sacrificed for some good luck ceremony as i was told from pics that I'd put up on another web site..So, there's a good chance this rooster got lose before the ceremony..But It's anybodys guess..The 2 chicks ended up being both roosters and the RIR got killed by a neighbors dog from across the alley along with my EE pullet and BR pullet i got as chicks from a feed store...I had a hard time with the 3 flying in the yard of a foreclosed home next door to me..I even clip there wings and helped for awhile till few for the last time which proved fatal as the dog across the alley got thur 2 fences....A lot a people around chicago have chickens and sometimes roosters so I think everybody around is use to it and rooster crowing like I was before mine,..I pick a 2 baby chicks and the NJG from a feed store in chicago..The NJG pullet someone that day give her up and they sold her to me for a few bucks..The 2 chicks are 5 week old banties dark one old english and light one golden seabright as told from the good folks on here..

Phoenix Parker and Romeo Parker??? I'm still deciding,LOL!

A friend of mine got some spent hens from his friend's farm to process for stew. There is one banty he didnt care to slaughter as there is not much meat and she escaped!
My friend's neighbour found the bird in his yard and started knocking on everybody's door to ask. My friend went to catch her back but she flew up high on the tree and he couldn't get to her. She's since disappeared. I wonder if she has gone through some dark city parks at night and some nice person with an intelligent dog has picked her up and given her a nice home, and she's got new boyfriend...

That's what I was thinking. A dog that brings home stray chickens. I love it.

I would name him something memorable and unique like Romeo, or Gatsby, or even Shakespeare! He was very much a lucky bird, but Lucky as a pet name is far overused making its meaning less meaningful! He needs a memorable or royal name. He is a handsome guy as well! Great job at the rescue!

Sorry for being so redundant! LOL

I have a cat named Gatsby! anyway, the rooster looks much better now.

What a truly happy thing to run across this thread. It did my heart a world of good to see the transformation in that (formerly) poor little roo - thank you soooooooooooooooo much..............no being should have to suffer like he had. It's just beautiful to see him all bright and shiny new and to know that he must feel good and happy now. Bless you...

(oh how I wish all dogs were like your precious one- there would be so much less suffering for our feathered friends...)

He looks beautiful, so handsome now. He was so sad and unhealthy before. Poor guy! Great job on getting him back to a healthy state. He even seems to stand proud in the new pics.
