I love lucas' eyes in the first picture. Looks like he is thinking, "Oh, no, not more pictures with that rooster."

What a happy story with great Pics! I love to hear about interspecies friendships and about roosters who have found good homes.

I grew up in the chicago suburbs and lived in the city for a few years, but never saw a chicken there. I didn't have chickens until I moved to Michigan. If you don't mind me asking what neighborhood did you find him in?

hansolo-It was raining for the last 3 days and hope to do some hiking soon..

scratch'n'peck-I found him at Marquette Park on 71st ST and Kedize ...There's a feed store on Archer and Harlem that sell a lot of birds of all kind..That's where I got some of my chicks from and feed..They been there for years.

Woo Hoo! Phoenix Parker! You picked the name I suggested (Phoenix), do I win something?!? What a happy handome rooster with a great home! Please keep us updated on him Rob. Doesn't this sound like a great kids book? A dirty little rooster found in the park by a nice guy and his cool dog and how his life changed forever? Write a book Rob, kids would LOVE it!

Oh, that's so awesome! I love hearing stories where roosters get a second chance at life-because so many have it rough for being in areas where crowing is not tolerated, nor is their presence. You've made him a very happy boy. I think he has what every rooster can only dream of.

Good luck!
