Found a snake, what is it?

RIngneck snake my behind. That is the dreaded Cobratcottonmoccasin.

I would get rid of it immediately. One look from that snake and you may turn to stone. That was what was on Medusa's head!

No, from what I've read these guys pretty much never bite. He just wiggled and I could picture him saying "heeeeey don't touch me! D:" and then he musked me and then chilled and was easy to hold.

so you should end up with norml looking babies 100% het amel and 50% caramel.....? right ??? I used to have several and my most priced was a lavender male.

Conny, your guess is better than mine with the hets deal. I know if Chester doesnt share any of Dawson's hets I'll get all normal babies. As for the het deal, I havent thought on it too much. I have an Amel het Lav and 3 normals possible het Lav. Its a beautiful color on snakes.

I grew up playing with ringnecks. They're very placid little snakes. Until they get very large (for ringnecks) their mouths don't even really open wide enough to get fangs into you, and I think they must know that because I've never seen one even offer to try to bite anyone. If they did try to bite, most likely it wouldn't be any worse than a lizard bite anyway, because as I said their mouths are so small and the fangs are in the rear. Unfortunately the small ones really don't do well in captivity, because they mostly eat tiny froglets and crickets and maybe the odd minnow or lizard egg, and given their size and their natural diet they're kinda hard to feed.
