Never seen a wood duck with colors like that can you explain that Clint? I'm not asking to be a smarty pants just curious as to where this color would come from in a Woody.

Sure is a pretty color. That's a much younger duckling than most in the original pic....but silver wood ducks, a mutation look like that. Still not the yellow of a Muscovy.
Clint
Can you post pics again? I'd love to see them as they mature and change.Update on the ducklings-
They're doing excellent! They aren't that scared of me anymore and I know they're eating well because they'll also scarf the food up from my hand. The largest one loves me. He'll let me hold him and when I put him on the ground he just stands beside me. I filled a small Tupperware bowl with water and let each of them a chance to take a little bath but the only one that would is the oldest, he loved it lol I would keep him if I could own ducks where I live.
Hi I'm new here! Alright so I just became a mom to TEN ducklings. I found them at a water company and I've seen them out multiples times today with no mom in sight at all so something must have happened to her. I had a duck when I was younger that I raised up but I don't remember much about it. I'll show you the cage they're in tomorrow but I just need to know some basics on what to do, can I tell their age at all, what age is safe to release them, and how big of a cage do they need to be in? Right now they aren't in a very big cage but I can't spend alot of money cause I just wanted to save them and raise them till they can be let go in a pond near me that has alot of ducks that live in it. Sorry for such a long post! Thanks for any info!
