found banded pigeon

i found a very skinny banded pigeon and took it home to give it some food and water and was able to call the owner but he lives 80 miles away and is not willing to go the distance to come pick up his young pigeon. what can i do since i cant keep him also he is parasite free. also he said that he didnt race his pigeon but that it flew away from his loft.

Maybe you can ask the owner for YOU to drop it off and if he refuses then sell it

Where are you located? I would simply sell it. The owner obviously doesn't care a bit about it, which is understandable if the birds is a flying breed.

im located in the netherlands and have since released it and it flew off so thats that (ofcourse after it looked healthy enough to let go)
