Found chick in road..help with ID

Get a friend, don't worry about babies, eat the eggs! Coturnix don't go broody (or I'll say it's extraordinarily rare if they do). I LOVE my quail eggs, much better than chicken eggs, just small.

Lots of quail eggs in the asian superstore. And I hear they are the new trendy ingredient in cooking.

Thanks again, I've found a few local people on Craig's list that have quail for sale. No white ones though. I wonder if white is just an occasional anomaly or is it a special breed?

I would just like the birds to get along and be about the same size.

Something to keep in mind when getting her some buddies is that quail should be housed with several females per male. 1 male and 3-5 females is a good mix. Three females is on the low side -- four is better. The male quails mate with the females QUITE frequently. Having fewer females means that they will end up in really rough condition. Having two males in the pen with the girls could result in one killing the other. It is quite common.
