Well definitely not a duck and from the look of the comb, I am leaning toward cockerel. My bet is that someone dumped it on you. Not sure if you have red sex links in the UK, but I am guessing that is what he is if so.

Its a cute little chick and not yet fully feathered. Does it look like your hens and does it have webbing between the toes? Definitely strange for a rogue chick coming out of nowhere.

Agree someone probably dumped it off, and I'm also saying that it's a cockerel. Maybe someday you will have chicks if you keep him!
