It's about 50 degrees where I have him now. Yeah, I can give him a heat lamp. I'll run out and do that...I guess I figured he didn't need it, but perhaps you're right. I'll do that...he's still sleeping standing up. I wish he would just lay down and relax his legs.

Being warm may help him relax and rest.

we put heat on anything thats unwell even if its 60 degrees out, it just lowers one less thing for the sick bird to waste energy on. you can even put it at one end, if he dosent like it he can move away from it.

Well he made it through the night. I've decided to call him Rescue Pete for the time being.

When I went to check on him this morning, he was laying down sleeping. That scared me at first, I was afraid that he didn't make it through the night. When I saw him look up at me I felt immediate relief. I was glad to see him relaxed a little bit more than yesterday. I opened up the pen and I was still was able to pet him, but he seemed more alert than he was yesterday. Like he was actually looking at things. So today the plan will be to really make sure that he's getting vitamins and fluids down and staying warm.

Thanks everybody for all of the help and advice with him. Keep your fingers crossed for him

what a wonderful thing you are doing! Please keep us posted on his progress. It sounds like your hard work may all be worth it. I pray he will pull through.

I would worm him and dust him for mites really well(I use Sevin dust 5%--you can buy this as Walmart in the lawn and garden section). He is so lucky you found him! Poor guy!!!
