This last post is correct. As i have already said twice these are mallards. I found some young mallards once and they were just like yours

Speaking from an experience, it kind of looks like a whistling duck...they're almost identical to mallards when they're young. We found one a year ago and thought the same thing. That's a buff Orpington duckling next to him to give you an idea of size. Down here in Texas we have Mexican Whistling ducks, sometimes called Black bellied tree ducks. There's also a Fulvous Whistling duck around here too. Truly amazing ducks! .

I was told to never feed my babies worms because they can't digest them. I was also told that Whisper wouldn't survive & that was a year ago.

This morning, they were chowing down on the meal worms and chick starter. Eating and drinking-a good sign!
