hi everyone, my chicken has some black spots on her comb and I'm wondering if it is fowl pox? the pic is not very good it is dark out side but i will get more tomorrow. i wold say she has about 7 of these spots in total thanks. i am working on uploading the photo now. sorry terrible photo also btw she is 13 weeks. And she is the top of the pecking order so it can’t be pecking wounds.

It’s hard to say, so I’ll come back tomorrow when you got a better picture but if they seem scabby and not from any little cuts it’s possible. And if your still not sure you can treat it just in case and separate her since it’ll spread to the rest of the flock.

here are the better pictures

i can go past murdochs today on the wayback from the barn do they have treatment there but i have to go very soon

I don’t really think that is fowl pox, but perhaps small pecks or insect bites. If it is pox, however, I would not do anything at this point, since it looks very mild. The only thing I worry about is with a severe case of pox, the scabs can be all around eyes and cause infection in the eyes. Then, I would apply Terramycin or plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment to the eyes twice a day. But it doesn’t look bad. Here is a good article with pictures of pox:
