Hello, Im still fairly new to identifying the different type of diseases chickens can get & I was wondering if this is fowlpox? I’ve searched a bit on groups & on the web but it looks a bit different from fowlpox. This also made his face mulberry/pink where ever the swoll bump areas are, his face was all black before!🙁 not sure if fowlpox looks different on these type of breeds due to the Fibromelanosis/pigment. Any answers & help would be greatly appreciated!!! (His face looks glossy because I put some a little Vaseline on him)

Yes, that looks like dry fowl pox to me. Can you look inside his beak and throat for any yellow material which could be wet pox? That is a more serious type of fowl pox. Pox is carried by mosquitoes, and lasts around a month. Do not disturb pox scabs, as they can be contagious. Some do paint them with Betadine to help dry them out. Lesions around eyes may cause difficulty seeing, and the possibility of eye infection. So I would apply a small dab of Terramycin eye ointment to the eyes with scabs around them twice a day. Here is a good article to read:
