This is the exact same tube that a vet sold when I had to give a cat enemas.

How many inches should I cut if off? or is it just past the hole?
 
18 fr makes sense, but very interesting that they have multiple uses. Not always that way with people. the Fat bell shaped end is where you will insert the cath tip syring for feeding. Did they tell you how to figure out how long the tube should be to make sure you are in the hen's crop?
 
Don't know chicken anatomy, does the tube need to be in the crop? Help, some more knowledgable people regarding chicken anatomy and tube feeding.
 
Anyone know a vet or vet tech, who might be willing to share info for all of us who can't run to the vet for everything, or have to travel for a livestock vet?

Loona, I have to tell you a story.
About 4-5 years ago, I only had two barred rock girls.One day, they where out roaming, and I went inside.Five minutes later I heard snarling, barking and squawking.My mom had run out, theneighbors dog had attacked my BR Beatrix.She had a chunk of skin, a fair size, about the size of a adult mans fist. maybe a little smaller.She recovered.And, Belive it or not, I still have her, she is approx. 8 and 1/2 years old, My top hen, AND still laying.

I think, keep doing what your doing, and your hen is going to be ok.She hope she will be.

Sorry, Ursuline Chick.I was very tired this morning, and Wasnt in my right mind.I apologize.
 
If I'm understanding the view in the video she is laying on her right side. It looks to me like her vent is ripped but not prolapsed. I do agree with attempting to get her more upright. If you can't fashion a sling I think rolled up towels to prop her up would be good. If you can prop up her head some too. When they don't feel well they tuck their head in but I personally think having her neck slightly exstended would help with eating and breathing. If you can set her tail and the torn parts of her vent in alignment they could start to heal.
I'd also feed her anything she will eat. Even if you put it in the blender and make a chicken milk shake. I'm sure her throats is sore so soft liquidy food would be easier on her.
