Fox attacked my duck! PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you felt around to see if any bones appeared to be broken? There's no puncture marks?

I agree, I would PM Amiga if you need immediate answers.....she has been very helpful in several on my duck situations. I am so sorry to hear about your little one, my 2 girls are VERY dear to me as well, I would be frantic too....I agree with Kevin, keep calm and continue to monitor her closely....it is good that she is drinking and I would also try to get some electrolytes in her water. Does she have favorite treats or foods? Maybe try to hand feed her some of those. Yes, where did the fox grab her? What areas are the most tender to her when you touch her? Are her wings laying flat against her body? They aren't sticking out or she isn't hanging them down?

thankfully no puncture marks or any wounds. I cant feel any broken bones but i think it would be a miracle if nothing is broken because of how much the fox shook her :/ hopefully she's a little miracle duck

Ah that's great that there's no puncture marks. That could have made things much more complicated. I think this duck has a good chance of fighting this! We'd all love to hear updates on her recovery.

Oh, no.

I don't want to give false hope, but we don't know what is going on with her. Can you get her into a lukewarm bath deep enough to float in?

It may traumatize her too much, go with your instincts on that. You are right. She may have serious internal injuries. Kevin's advice was good. Keep her in, quiet, warm, with plenty to drink, and give some electrolytes when you get them. If you pray, I would do that, too.

I am wondering if there is air in her body cavity. That can happen with sudden blunt trauma, such as being shaken.

who is Amiga? can someone send me a link to her please? i sent my brother out to get some electrolytes he should be back any minute. she's drinking well. she wont eat anything. the fox had her by the butt first and then grabbed her by the middle and shook her around. her most tender area is her right side. she wont let me touch either of her wings. they dont appear to be broken but they arent sitting correctly because of the swelling on the right side.

That is good....a ducks most sensitive areas are believe it or not, their feet and necks and it sounds like those are okay so that's good. Keep us posted, wishing you luck and a speedy recovery...

Has she been laying lately? Hopefully a egg wasn't broken inside of her during the struggle.

Hi Amiga! thank you so much. And yes im most worried because i cant see whats going on with her. her breathing just started to become very shallow. im too afraid to pick her up right now to put her in a bath. she's sitting next to me by the heater right now resting, hopefully that warmth is good enough :/ thank you all so much for your help i cant tell you how thankful i am!
