Fox attacking

fox, i would highly recommend trapping and killing it (as it already has killed your livestock)

if trapping is not an option or takes to long i would shoot and kill it. .22mag should work pretty good. (use it on coyotes or plan to with in 100 yards)

otherwise a good defense is the best offence. electric fence would help.

Thankyou but I am NOT killing it I love all animals and it would hurt me to kill it!

It has been gone for about 2 weeks I am still warey though!
You might not have a problem for a couple months. Then all of a sudden they are back again. Even when a fox has been shot and killed around here, within a few months another fox moves into this territory.

I had to take my electric poultry netting down. A buck got his antlers tangled in my netting. Took 5 game wardens to saw off his antlers and free him as they could not untangle the antlers. Until I can get someone to repair my netting the chickens are confined to their coop and run.

You will probably loose more birds in the future. The fox knows where there are some chickens and if it can find a way in, it will. I see a fox on one of my games cameras most nights. Here They come out mostly at night.

I have electric wire around my coops and pens because of a bobcat, concrete under my gates because of a fox and heavy duty netting covering all of the pens because of an owl. The owl was a hard one to figure out until I put up a game camera and caught it in action.

Judy saw a fox this past weekend. It was 9am. He was walking the perimeter of our fenced area. The chicks were out in that area. I scared him off and they have been forced to stay in the secure run. I have a game camera going to get a sense where he is lurking. A trap and projectile is the plan.
