Foxes...

I have an arsenal :D but I know what ya mean. I have a fox that just won't get in the cross hairs but is brave enough to stand in my drive way and just dodge my bumper. almost bounced off a tree trying to get em. :)

they do but it won't kill them and it's a rare bird that needs zapping more than 1-2 times to learn to respect the fence
I will have to look into it then! I've never been a fan of electric fences but if it keeps the foxes away from eating my food source I will definitely look into it! Thank You!!

Haha! Sly Sons a Guns! This guy is HUGE biggest fox I seen around here! & So sneaky...

This is exactly what I did. Only one I have lost is one that refused to stay inside the fence. Before I could catch her and clip her wings she because fox lunch. The other 15 are smart and stay in where they are safe. The foxes moved across the street where my neighbor is dealing with them having a den and eating her chickens. She stubbornly refuses to put up electric fencing even though she is losing a lot of birds. She keeps buying chicks to replace the lost hens which in turn get eaten.

Before using the electric netting I lost 6 out of 8 hens in a few days to foxes. The two survivors were so traumatized that they stopped laying.
For clipping the wings...
1. Can you do it wrong? or is it really as basic as I've read? (Basically just cut the long feathers) Also I've gotten mixed suggestions as to clipping 1 vs clipping both...
2. If I clip their wings will I have to move their boxes and perches lower???? How high can they get with clipped wings?

I've been clipping wings on parrot type birds for 40 years. Never had a problem. Only problem I could imagine is if you tried to clip the wings on one that is going through molt and is just getting the wing feathers back. In that case there would be blood in the feather shaft. You'd notice it due to the dark color it would be.
