Freak Size Egg

Got this huge egg today. The egg next to it is a large egg. I get one this size every few years. The hen that layed it is a Plymouth White Rock.

This is a pic from last fall. One of my gals laid this bad boy. Not sure which one but it was much larger than any other eggs. If I am not mistaken, it was a double yoke too.

Star, my Plymouth Barred Rock, lays an egg that size every week or two.

I saw a video of how an egg is formed. It starts coming down the pipe pointy end first. But it's laid round end first. So, somewhere along the line, it turns around and at some point,

it's sideways.

Ow. Just... Ow.

Meh, I had two breech births .. no big deal lol

Can you weigh it?

I didn’t weigh the first one, but the second one weighed 4oz. Which was just a little smaller than the first one. So I am thinking the first one weighed in the neighborhood of 4 1/2oz.
