FREE - 2 Buff Brahma Chickens - Located in Dallas, TX

Sophia and Dorothy are two docile backyard chickens. Unfortunately, the two have gotten bigger than expected and outgrown their living space. Looking to find them a new home. Please contact with any serious inquiries.

Background: Brahmas are famed for their size and known as King of ‘Chickens’. They are docile, calm breed that are both a meat, and egg laying, bird. Most people’s favorite part about them are their feather boots!

Sophia and Dorothy’s Bio:
From: Tractor Supply
“Birth” date: March 25,2020
Gender: Both females
Weight: 6-8lbs
Diet: Chicken feed, fruit, nuts, and backyard grass
Environment: Cared for since baby chicks, free-ranged in backyard, friendly around human contact and kids, grew up with two other chickens, trained to come when called.
Egg production: Medium-Large brown eggs (Sophia has not laid yet).

They are very sweet and so sad that I have to find them a new home. It was a VERY tough decision.

Oh no. I’m so sorry you have to let them go.
If I lived near by I would definitely take them. I have two buff Orpington and they are loved and spoiled but we had to harvest 4 cockerels from the same brood because we’re not allow to have roosters in our community.
I tried to regime them but was unsuccessful so we harvested humanly (had never done this in our lives) and we had the most wonderful meals. We feel we respected their lives this way.

Thanks for the note! We were able to find them a loving home where they will be part of other hens, rooster, and other farm animals. It was SO hard to let them go, but happy to know that they are with a caring loving family.
