Gardening is an important part of staying healthy, not only mentally but physically. Get out in the dirt and sun and put your feet on the earth while creating a wonderful space to hang out with family and friends.
Be prepared when visiting a location. Label your shares, have a container to bring home any cutting another gardener donated. Have a sharpie, tape, envelopes for labeling, and if there are bulk seeds left in the waterproof container. The Seed Libraries and Stands are open daylight hours unless stated in the details on our Google Maps.
There is a blog on our site to help you open the map if you're using an Apple product.

At an event about a month ago, we grabbed 3 large green sugar cane. There were no roots, but now they are ready to get planted. These are going to stay in pot's so we can move them around this summer.
🌿 We have used sugar cane for so many things but gave them all away at events and our stand. We're giving more a go to add another plant to our location.

💧When we transfer from water to soil, we turn the pot on its side to not disturb the roots.
💧 Water about every other day and keep in the shade for about 3 weeks or more.

Made a quick batch of lavender infused oil.
These 3 oils blend together well and make a lovely hue of green.
🫒 Olive, coconut, and castor oil.

Living Green Village Celebrations of nature abound during the month of April (Water Awareness Month, Earth Day on April 22, and Arbor Day on April 25), so what a perfect time to feature our Living Green Village with exhibitors/booths promoting an earth-friendly lifestyle.

We will have our Free Seed Table and some cuttings available for sharing . Bring a container to carry your cuttings home and if you have any bulk seeds for sharing. We will get those to a seed shepherd for sharing at the stands and this event.

WHEN: Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pioneer Park, on Main Street.
Celebrate Mesa is a free family event that brings the community together to enjoy games, carnival rides, entertainment and more. Planned by the City of Mesa Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities, over 7,000 are expected to attend!

They ask to only hand out items that are made from recycled material or are reusable, recyclable, or compostable (for example, no candy with wrappers, no Styrofoam unless you are up-cycling it), see our Green Events Guidelines.
They will promote the City’s newly adoptedClimate Action Plan – with six focus areas: energy, air quality, heat mitigation, water stewardship, materials management, and food systems. We’re looking forward to working with everyone on how we can show the public simple ideas to incorporate earth-friendly practices into their daily lives. We love that the Living Green Village is a sustainable, fun, and info-training part of the event!

Please read our disclaimers on the website. Thank you.
