Friends--My work and family has me too busy to attend to my coop as I should, so I'm offering it all up for free to someone LOCAL who can pick it up. I still have a handful of adult female egg layers that should continue to produce for you (I get about an egg per bird per day year-round). I've housed as many as 8 birds successfully, but all were female and from the same hatch so fighting has been non-existent. Coop is a modified rabbit hutch with hardware cloth (predator proof) on all sides, and a custom "table" that it sits on so that it's easy to access and see the birds and keeps everything up off the ground.
Includes a feeder bucket that attaches to the side with a 90-degree PVC-pipe-like access inside the cage. That system was sold for chickens, and it's a little large for quail so it needs some attention. The quail can and will crawl into the PVC pipe and will get stuck if you don't remove them. They won't do this as long as the feed doesn't get too low, but this is part of my motivation for giving away the system because I'm not able to check on the feed every few days anymore. Truthfully, you should be removing their eggs daily anyway, so the feeding system is not a problem if you are checking on your birds often and keep the bucket of feed at least half-full.
I also include a 5 gallon bucket watering system with water nipples and two water heaters for winter. One heater goes in the bucket itself, and the other is a pipe heater that is wrapped around the PVC waterlines and is insulated. This system works flawlessly summer and winter, as long as you have the two heaters plugged in during winter.
Everything you need to keep these birds happy and productive is here, but I'm not going to ship or deliver this--you need to be able to pick it up in your truck or van. I live near Ann Arbor, MI. Please send a message to me if you're interested and able to pick it up. Serious inquiries only please. Youth who are interested--please get parental permission before inquiring.
