I was just wondering if there was anyone that has done free range farming with Cornish Crosses. What are the challenges. Surely you could not put baby chicks outside in the cold and expect them to survive or could you. I have an idea of doing some freerange cornish Cross farming but I am not sure of how to start. I have looked on the Internet and I have this picture of a cheap DIY coop for my chickens. PVC Electrical conduit for the skeleton, wire mesh for the sides / elevation and PVC cloth for the roof. What else can I use for the roof.

Do a search for Hoop Houses.. I use one and am going to make two more in the next few weeks.. I love them becasue i can get into the cage witht he birds to remove injured or sick birds.. or just check on them all .. I do brood insode typically but just ordered another batch of BBW turkeys, as warm as it is I tjhink i may brood them outside in a wore cage with a light at night in my Hoop house...
