Free ranging days are over.

I had guineas that started getting on cars. They are in Guinea heaven now with that great automobile in the sky.
I have to herd my turkeys in at night also. They seem to have this aversion to gates but, once they see their feed pan in the coop they run right in.

Good luck with them.I had one pair of Narragansett's.They free ranged during the day and slept in a coop which We had added a long roost and had a large built on ledge for them.I never had any problems with them going in at night but then again they were graduated with those bantam's.On the other hand I got a bunch of Royal Palm's.

. I only had a few that would to roost in the horse stall rafter's.They totaly wrecked our vehicle's.DH would go out and all 14 would be on car and truck. We tried penning them in large lot We had built but they would fly right out. They would all be walking in the road.Luckily We live on unpaved but still traffic.I finaly started selling them off.I got down to 3 the one's that would roost.Well that was short lived. When it got cold the dummie's would roost on top of the house IN THE SNOW!I finaly got a buyer for those. They were beautiful bird's and were big babie's. But just could not do anything with them.I don't have any turkey this year I sure with I had my Narrangansett pair back myself they were really good bird's.Hope you have luck getting your's trained.

My Turkeys always went back inside the pen at dusk, just like the chickens.. Maybe because they were raised in the Hen house with the chickens??
