I was thrilled when my flock found its way around to my front yard!!! I love looking out the windows from my desk or my recliner and seeing them diligently hunting bugs, or just strutting around like the lovely girls (and roo) they are!
Then, when they found a shortcut through the fence into my land-lady's yard, and visited her 3 sheep and then her back patio, I thought it was a hoot! Luckily, so did she.
She's been duck resistant until Thelma and Louise (my two Cayugas who are also part of my flock with the chickens) waddled all the way over there (they didn't take the short cut, they walked around TO the gate open between the driveway and her back yard) to tap on her sliding glass door. Suddenly, she has a smile in her voice when she mentions my ducks. She's always smiled about the chickens.... but now the ducks are "good things" instead of just messy water wasters.
