Free ranging livestock may come to an end.

It is not really a challenge unless you limit yourself to a primitive weapon. There are game preserves in Texas that are far from canned hunts but are fenced. I prefer the public land hunts more for the solitude and absence of people.

personally, as a hunter, I find game ranches disgusting and would have no problem with them all being banned tomorrow.

I have no more problem with canned hunts than I do with people stocking a private pond to fish in.

a pond is a pond. but a canned hunt means that the animal has no chance of getting away. more like shooting fish in a barrel than stocking a private pond.

I am not sure that I can agree with that statement regarding stocking a private pond. I have had my own pond and I stocked it with fish because I liked to see them swim around and I even used to throw fish food out to watch them feed. The ponds that I had tilapia in I considered them to be my private source of fresh fish and I did not invite strangers to come in and fish for a fee. I should add that most public fisheries, including the Great Lakes are stocked from time to time with fish. It does not make them any easier to catch.

As for canned hunts, I must agree that they are basically a sick joke. It is not a hunt at all.
