Reinbeau how do you manage to keep your sanity living in the Boston
area with such a pragmatic and Libertarian attitude? You must have tough

It could drive me absolutely crazy, PC, but I've found there's quite a few of us here - and we seem to find each other, thankfully. I just sit here and shake my head at it all - I read the Globe (just to keep up with what the loons are going on about now) and am utterly amazed at how much people are willing to give up when they've been buffaloed into believing it's for the greater good.

Plus I don't live in Boston proper, thank goodness. I'm in a little conservative-minded enclave down here on the South Shore. Down to earth, real people surrounded by masses of insanity! And yes, I do have very tough skin! And a good sense of humor, we need it around here!

What you suggest has been tried and the Dairy board lobbied to stop it from happening because direct distribution means they don't get a cut of the action and can't control it.

Here in Vermont one can legally buy raw goat or cow's milk from a dairy farmer. I think a person is limited to 5 gallons per day or something.

No one has died yet.

I understand what you said concerning #2 but when it includes the fact I can't even serve meat to guests in my own home at dinner time because it didn't come from a store. That is going way to far.

The point is it is the LAW they are breaking the LAW, just because I know how to use DYNAMITE that doesnt mean I should be allowed to obtain it, and you cant. Because when you blow your hand off your gonna be the first one in line to get disability because you lost the use of your hand, and then you will be calling a lawyer because the ACME dynamite co didnt check your credentials before selling you the product.

If you dont like the laws get them changed legally or you are illegal, and breaking the law. So the farmers should suck it up and play within the rules that are in place or face the consequences.

Marlinchaser, sorry but that old cliche "If you dont like the laws get them changed legally..." just doesn't fly with anyone who knows the reality of fighting large corporations and paying some mercenary, social-parasite lawyer to rob you blind and sell you out. Getting laws changed after they've been bought and paid for just ain't anywhere nearly that easy as your canned phrase suggests, no matter how many times it's repeated. Now if you're a stubborn, angry millionaire with a cause then...

And sometimes it takes a little civil disobedience to draw public attention to a law in order to get it changed. History is full of those examples.
