I'm sorry for that. I also had an issue with JM they never sent me an email saying they were sent. Mine sat at the PO for 2 1/2 days. Lucky for me I only lost 2.

i don't think her issue was w/ JM... but rather the post office. and i have never received an email from them...... that again is the post office's job (even says so on the invoice) to CALL you when they arrive. delivery is the friday after hatch date.

This is off the website but it doesnt say which heritage breeds are used

The Cornish Crosses were developed from heritage breeds, but that doesn't mean the current grandparent stock used to produce the commercial Cornish Crosses necessarily resemble heritage chickens. Really, all chickens come from heritage breeds, right?

To JM s credit, this was a postal mistake...I found JM very nice to do business with..I am bummed that I may have "other" stuff them the freedoms as this is what I wanted!
One is on its way out today, the smallest..very light, sleepy, isolated and sprayed with rescue remedy..no luck..everyone else is doing great and eating ALOT!

that's what i was thinking...

on the freedom ranger hatchery page there is a photo (3 of 6) of what appears to be some sort of white rock (?) roos and production red (?) hens. do you guys think maybe this photo is of the breeding stock? i mean that could account for all the possible color variations (maybe i guess... i don't know too much about color genetics in chickens).

ETA link to the photo in question http://www.freedomrangerhatchery.com/learnmore

I've got some Rangers and they look like red Cornish cross, same waddle, same look, a little slower growth, but just as 'piggy' and smelly, also mine are growing uneven some are quite small and some are close the butcher size, but all the nutty weather here can not be helping, lots of rain and flooding
