French frogs

I really hope to get back to the blue egg colors. Mine have been crossing brown in for so long that they just keep getting darker green every generation . The only "blue" layer is the old Ameraucana, and she's only good for an egg a week in summer or less.

No worries, hon... you'll be hatching some blue eggs in spring... :D ;)

But those greens with the brown speckles are to die for!

My last, lone Legbar lays nice blue eggs, but they have a very slight hint of green and aren't a clear "true blue" to my eyes. She's going to be 3 in April so we'll see how she lays this year. My lone tweaked wheaten ameraucana pullet hasn't started laying yet. Since she has a bad wry tail she won't ever have offspring and if she ends up with laying issues, she'll be culled. She has a fabulous beard and muffs though and is a sweetie at the bottom of the pecking order. Lately she's paired off with my #2 RO cockerel, so they keep each other company away from everyone else. As long as there is peace, they can both stay.

What a day! Step daughter never showed up. Sick dog to take care of, blah, blah... Step son is on his way though, with my granddaughter, so I'll be happy. I'm cancelling Christmas next year. :D
