French frogs

It's going... trying to figure out an odd color in one of our ducklings...
I always put my younger co... roos... in with my older girls... they teach them manners they never forget!

wow, your baby duck pics are pretty tempting too.

the lady I'm buying eggs from, does duck and goose eggs also.

I may give them a go later.

That was the case with this one, it was a young roo put in with 2 year old hens who had never seen a co... roo before...

And there is something to be said about the education from an older wo... hen

I got 2 young Am boys to replace my old roo since he was wrong color... while I was growing them out to decide which to keep, I penned them in a separate area in the hens pen for intro time... when I finally let them out, they charged straight across the pen right towards the girls... first boy got there and jumped..... he was immediately smacked down and whomped on by 4 hens... second boy hit they brakes halfway there, turned around and ran... they kept those boys on eggshells for a good month or so... got rid of the first boy and finally the second earned their respect... they never injured him, but they sure knocked sense into him, lol...

That is awesome! It was pretty funny to watch my rooster start to act tough and have one of those old hens put him in his place.

I'm really liking the ducks better than the chickens, but the mess is waaaaay more, lol...

Hens would make the boys wait to eat and they roosted in the corner of the coop for a long time... I'm really not joking when I say the hens rule the flocks here...

You posted that once before and I remembered that. I've been bringing them in at night. The problem is after an hour or two outside the top layer is a sheet of ice. I've emptied and refilled 3 times today!

1 thing to try is wrapping them in that silver bubble wrap like insulation stuff... and are you using cool or warm water?
